Faux Shopping Day
I did some shopping today. I bought a couple of light jackets but I didn’t have a good winter coat. I was pretty sure I wanted something interesting–artsy even. I had seen a couple of faux fur coats that I really liked. I thought it would be interesting to find a purple or blue faux fur coat for winter.
Last time I was shopping at my favorite consignment store, Second Chance on Locke St. in Hamilton) one of the owners asked if I was interested in faux fur coats.
“Absolutely,” I said. She offered to call me when they came in and told me the date the consignor was bringing them in, which I added to my calendar. I also received a call that they had 4 lovely coats I should stop by to see.
When I first saw them, I was so excited to see so much choice. There were 2 purple ones, an indigo one, and a leopard one. I tried on the purple ones first. They were both too large, unfortunately. The leopard one was also too large as well, so I didn’t try it at all. I started to think I was going to be disappointed after all. But when I tried on the indigo coat, I fell in love. It was a lovely fit and I love the tailored line. My friend Anne made sure I bought the scarf that was displayed with the coat. It has an indigo sheen that shimmers purple and blue. It is fantastic. I can’t wait to wear it.
On the way out I tried on a faux shearling vest. I tried to leave the store without it, but I knew I would regret it later. So, I bought the vest too. Completing my “faux” day.
